It is always busy at the parking lot next to the Migrations Agency in Malmö – we are distributing essentials, offering a cup of hot coffee, and sharing a couple of kind words with the dozens of inhabitants, both big and small, of the refugee hotel. “We are from Kiev. We saw the tanks entering our street. Children were crying a lot. We escaped through Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland and finally made it to Sweden. Sweden is helping enormously, and volunteers are amazing. We are so thankful for such a great reception and help. Thank you volunteers and Sweden, I hope you will never know what war is.“

“We came from Kharkiv. The rest of our family stayed there- they didn`t have a possibility to leave. The city is completely destroyed. We are looking for a help here in Sweden, and we met kind people here next to Migration Agency. They are helping me and my two children, the little one needs diapers, and the both him and 10 year old need clothes, and we get everything thanks to kind people. If not volunteers, that would be very hard for us. We need a lot of things, but we are still waiting for the allowance and cannot buy anything. So we are coming here to get everything from hygiene products to sweets for the kids. I even got a jacket here from the volunteers. Our old clothes was too damaged, so we got everything we need from the volunteers.“
