ABOUT US
About us
7+ locations
50+ volunteers
Community of 4000+ people
Started as a group of Ukrainian- and Russian-speaking friends who came to the migration hostel on the first days of war, we have grown into a non-profit organization Malmö Helps, with 50+ volunteers, 7 locations and a community of 4000+ people of different backgrounds and nationalities, all united by one thing – a will to help.
Every day, our volunteers are involved in various activities supporting Ukrainians in Skåne. Organized by us, or in collaboration with our partners, they include everything from providing basic necessities and information about life in Sweden to helping with translations at the authorities, guiding in finding jobs, opening a bank account or buying tickets, organizing language and art classes, cultural festivals, sightseeing excursions and social events for children and adults. Read more about our regular activities and find our schedule with times and locations, including how to get there, below.
In 2022, we organized two festivals of Ukrainian culture – in August on Ukrainian Independence Day and in November. Hundreds of people attended the events where Ukrainian artists, singers and dancers performed, Ukrainian food was served and many creative activities were offered for visitors. See more about the festivals at the links.
