Volunteer training

On June 16, we held our first volunteer training in Föreningscenter Nobel 21. The purpose of the training was to equip volunteers with practical information on how to answer questions from newly arrived people about life, work, and education in Sweden. More than 20 participants joined the training, including both our active volunteers, volunteers from other organizations, and future volunteers!

We had an intense 3-hour-long program with multiple speakers. First, board members of Malmö Helps told about our history, work, and future. Then the representative of FRÖDING Juristbyrå shared key legal aspects of Ukrainian refugee status in Sweden, followed by our guest from Umdi Advokatbyrå who told us about challenges and collaboration opportunities in Ukrainian refugee consulting. Officials from Malmö Stad explained how Malmö municipality supports Ukrainian refugees. Representatives of Grundskoleförvaltningen shared their insight on the situation with schools for Ukrainian refugees. Lastly, Arbetsförmedlingen’s representative had a presentation on rights and support programs for Ukrainian refugees. Each session was followed by numerous questions and examples from the field. We are thankful to our audience and speakers for being so engaged and enduring.

We would be happy to see everyone in our diverse volunteer group! Learn how to get involved on this page!
